The purpose of the Orillia Hall of Fame is to recognize those citizens of Orillia past or present who have obtained national and international recognition in various endeavours including business, religion and the arts. The Hall of Fame portraits are hanging in City Hall, and a new, free booklet with biographies of each member is available at City Hall or elsewhere in the community. The Hall of Fame Committee consists of Clare Long, Chairman, Wendy Hutchings, Lucille Mulcahy, Janifer T- deHaas, Andrew Johnson, and Don Ross. Laura Lee, Clerk of Council, advises and does the minutes.

The most recent members to the Hall of Fame, William Bell, Peter Cairns and Eric Harvie, were inducted at a ceremony held on Friday October 25th, 2002, 7:30 pm, in the Council Chamber at Orillia City Centre.

Introduction

The history of Orillia is the legacy of deeds and achievements of its residents. Every day we live with and build upon that history and the accomplishments of the people we have known.

Among so many notable candidates for the Hall of Fame, both contemporary and historic, the choices are difficult but rewarding. Over the years of this Committee's work, thirty-eight inductees have been awarded a place in the City's Hall of Fame.

So enter into our Hall of Fame and discover the spirit of Orillia
